This has been a HUGE project and I am SO happy to say it is finally completed (and decorated) ha! If you all remember this is what the area looked like before I started
And here it is after!!!
I still can’t believe it is done (well besides a few touch ups). It looks amazing and the best part was the savings!! Had I hired this out it would have been $2700 for the cabinets and shelves plus an extra $100 per cabinet top so $2900!! Here is the breakdown of what it cost me to do it myself
Cabinet Base
2 sheets of MDF $60
lumber and hinges for the cabinet doors $150
Cabinet Tops
1 sheet of 3/4″ Maple top plywood $50 (I have extra for more projects)
1 piece of pure maple 1×3 $25 (I have extra for more projects)
Shelves
$150
Total cost: $435!
**note that I already had screws, paint, and paint supplies :). That would be about a $50 addition to the cost if I didn’t have them.
This was a HUGE undertaking and sometimes I wish I had just hired it out, but the $2465 savings was SO worth it!!
